Charleston Christmas parade postponed

With the weather forecast Tuesday calling for a 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday, Dec. 8, the Charleston Christmas parade (which had been scheduled for 2 p.m. on that date) has been postponed one week.

Mayor Sedrick Smith said Tuesday evening that the parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2.

Smith said Saturday’s planned lighting of the community Christmas tree in the courtyard at Charleston City Hall will be postponed until 6 p.m. on Dec. 15.
