Charles Jopp III
SUMNER — Charles Selden Jopp, III, passed away Friday, Sept. 28,
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Sumner followed by a celebration of life there in the chapel.
Skipper, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born April 5, 1931 in Boston, Mass. to Charles and Jane Abbey Jopp. Skipper lived in Webb, and was a delta cotton farmer for many years. After retiring, he made wooden cars and trucks for children’s hospitals in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi.
Skipper is survived by son, Brad Jopp of Cruger and Julia (Jim) Bryan of Crystal Springs; grandson, Taylor (Hannah) Bryan of Arvada, Col.; granddaughter, Jenifer (David) Hester of Locust Grove, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren.
Skipper was predeceased by his wife, Pat Courtney Jopp; sister, Joyce Jopp Tinsley; and daughter, Jenifer Allen Jopp.
