Dillard Melton Sr.

TUTWILER — Dillard Dee Melton, Sr., age 86, passed away Saturday, March 2, at his home at Tutwiler.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.  Interment follwed at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery near Sumner.  Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dillard was a workaholic, avid hunter, cotton grower, lived and breathed farming.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Alice Melton of Brazil; one daughter, Deanna Moorman of Brazil; three sons, Scottie Melton and Mike Melton (Sheila) of Brazil and Dillard Melton Jr. (Sandi) of Cleveland; three sisters, Darlene Moorman (J.W.) of Oakland, Maudine McNeer of Teco and Jean Clark of Memphis; one brother, Bobby Melton (Gussie) of Charleston; 11 grandchildren, Gaye Melton, Scott Melton Jr, Chelsea Melton, Lara Melton, Dillard D. Melton III (Beau), Anna Melton Vaughn, Ryan Moorman, Skyler Moorman, Constance Moorman, Josh Melton, Ciji Sanders; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Logan Melton; his parents, Fred and Myrtle Melton; three sisters and four brothers.
The family reqeusts memorial contributions  be made to Sumner Baptist Church.
