CHARLESTON — Robertson “Bobby” Dailey, age 89, retired car dealer of Dailey Chevrolet, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at First United Methodist Church. Womble Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Bro. Ray Branch officiated and Mrs. Sugar Roberson provided the sacred music.
Born May 20, 1929, he was the son of the late Robertson Dailey and Maurita Sikes Dailey. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Frances Minnette Mahoney “Peggye” Dailey; one son, Robertson “Bubba” Dailey, Jr.; and a sister, Marion Dailey Oates.
He is survived by his daughter, Rita Sikes Dailey of Arlington, Tenn.; two nephews, Greek Lent Rice (Donna) of Houston, Texas and David Robertson Oates of Mesa, Arizona; and a niece, Laura McMinn Oates Cronin (Kevin) of Desoto, Wisconsin.
Honorary pallbearers were John Ball Burnett, David Hargett and the Rotary Club.
