VICKSBURG – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District at Sardis Lake announces that they are now accepting applications for a youth deer hunt on the weekends of Nov. 7-8 and Dec. 4-6, 2026.
Applications for the hunts can be completed in person at the Sardis Lake Field Office or downloaded from the Sardis Lake website. They can then be mailed to the Sardis Lake Field Office at: 2400 Hwy. 315 Scenic Route, Sardis, MS 38666, or emailed to walter.h.sullivant@usace.army.mil.
Applications must be submitted by 3 p.m. on Oct. 21. Any missing or false information will result in a rejection of the application.
The hunts will be open to youth between the ages of 8 and 15 and will be held at the Sardis Waterfowl Refuge. All youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older. The accompanying adult is encouraged to possess a general knowledge of state and federal deer hunting regulations as these will be enforced.
Successful applicants will be notified of their selection.
