Armani Smith of Charleston has been selected as Mississippi’s 2026 state president of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
The NTHS is an honor society recognizing outstanding student achievement in career and technical education.
Smith, an accomplished junior at Charleston High School, is the daughter of Lincoln and Sandy Smith.
A dedicated scholar and leader, she also is an active member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Teacher Academy and Educators Rising Mississippi.
Smith is deeply committed to community involvement and service. She participates in the Panola County Debutante Program, where she exemplifies poise, grace and civic responsibility while giving back to her community.
She also lends her leadership to the Torch & Laurel Society, the Emmett Till Youth Advisory Council, and the National Society of High School Scholars.
Smith is an alumna of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, reflecting her dedication to service, academic excellence and a growing passion for the medical field.
She represents Charles-ton High School as a multi-sport athlete in cheerleading, track and field, and volleyball. Through athletics, she has developed discipline, perseverance and a strong sense of teamwork — qualities that guide her both on and off the field.
Smith launched “Armani’s Christmas for All,” a project aimed at collecting and providing Christmas gifts this year for all 98 residents of the Extended Care Facility nursing home in Charleston.
Looking ahead, Smith plans to join the Army National Guard and begin her higher education at East Mississippi Community College before transferring to Howard University. She aspires to become a pediatric neurologist, combining her love for science with her heart for service to children and families.
Grounded in faith, family and purpose, Smith lives by the belief that “legacy begins with purpose.”
