Bank of Commerce’s acquisition of Tallahatchie County Bank in Charleston has been consummated by all parties and is closed.
The purchase, effective March 1, is believed by both parties to be mutually beneficial. This acquisition will provide additional growth for Bank of Commerce and will enable more services for the people of Tallahatchie County.
“Our purchasing Tallahatchie County Bank had to be good for us and for them, and I believe this is going to be a really good marriage,” said Bryan Thornhill, president and CEO of Bank of Commerce.
During the coming weeks and months, Tallahatchie County Bank will transition to Bank of Commerce, and customers will notice additional services becoming available to them, including mobile banking, online banking, commercial cash management and the ability to take out larger loans.
“We’re excited about the enhancement of our technologies and the services we will now be able to provide, all of which will be beneficial to our customers,” said William McKellar, CEO and president of Tallahatchie County Bank. “Ever since Bryan and I first talked, I knew this merger was the right thing to do for our customers and our business.”
Bank of Commerce now has six locations across Mississippi: Charleston, Columbus, Oxford, Starkville and two in Greenwood.
