Your doctor may have sent you to physical therapy, and it may have a very difficult process for you. Hopefully, it helped!
Because I had partial knee replacements when I was much younger, I now need to have them removed and have full knee replacements put in.
However, there are some complications involved. The plastic part of my partial replacement wore down in tiny particles, and my body tried to get rid of the plastic pieces by forming nodules, which have made my bone fragile. The operation to remove the bone with nodules and get to strong bone to attach the knee replacements will be somewhat difficult. To get the muscles and tendons stronger for the surgery, I was sent to physical therapy to see if it would help and get ready to have the replacements.
Also, my therapist and I worked on strengthening spinal muscles in my back. We wanted to reduce lower back pain.
I have learned many ways to exercise, which are mostly quite simple but make a huge difference in my balance, strength and agility. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to work with a wonderful team of therapists.
Have you ever thought you might be in dire need of spiritual therapy? How can you exercise those spiritual muscles and develop stronger faith, endurance, resistance to the devil and prayer power?
I go to the therapist where the tools for exercise are ready to use. Other people are there working on their weaknesses or post-surgery recovery. We are instructed in what to do and how to do the movements. It’s good to work together!
One way to grow spiritually is to get involved in a Bible preaching, doctrinally sound church where you will hear the Word of God taught, shared and explained. Through Bible classes and sermons, you will be exposed to God’s Word and Truth, which will begin to deepen your understanding.
Getting to know other Christians who are strong and know what they believe and why, can be very helpful in building your walk with God. You can ask questions and they can share their journey of faith and growth with you.
Read your Bible! Get in God’s Word. Pray and ask Him to help you understand through the power of the Holy Spirit. Discover the context of the verses you are reading, who was writing, to whom it was written, and the historical situation.
Find a version of the Bible you can read and understand. There are many versions. You can find samples online or you can go to a Christian bookstore and find the one that fits you.
Pray and think about the verses you read. If you don’t understand, ask a trusted pastor or mature Christian to help you. Ask God to help you grow as you reflect on His Word. Memorize key verses that mean a lot to you so you can recall them when needed.
Exercise your faith! Do what God teaches you as you learn how to follow Him. You may find it difficult at first, but practice makes perfect. Put what you know into action,
There are many, many ways to grow spiritually. God isn’t hiding from you.
Seek Him and you will find Him.
