Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Farmers and farm workers are now in charge. Tractors and other equipment are operating across the fields in our little country community.
Each planting season process is as if it’s being done for the first time, and rightfully so. It’s always exciting and energizing to see how agriculture works. The last few years, seeing how workers handle setting sweet potato plants tops the list of agriculture watching.
We imagine graduates are happy to have graduation over, or about over, and making ready for the next item on the agenda. High school or college students should be proud of those who supported them financially and emotionally. Everyone — parents, siblings, family and teachers, too — has reason to see a student walk across the stage, football field, wherever, to be handed their earned diploma.
Of course, college graduation for me was long ago but I felt proud mixed emotions each time our children made their ceremonial walks for their awards. Can you imagine not attending your own graduation? Time passes, but you never forget your own graduation times.
Memorial Day is Monday and many are looking forward to a three-day weekend. Memorial Day is mentioned as the unofficial beginning of summer.
Who’s waiting for summer? It’s waiting for you. Many (can’t waiters) are already sporting shorts, sun shades, sun dresses and sandals. The next few months there will be much picnicking and social gatherings. Enjoy this time. Stay safe, particularly when traveling, eating and socializing.
Remember to display your American flag as you pay homage in remembrance of those who lost their lives serving our country, lest we forget our military men and women and their families. God bless our nation!
May you and yours enjoy a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
