Warm and pleasant greetings. We hope you are enjoying the first week of November while adjusting to central standard time. Be safe, for as time changes it becomes necessary for individuals to make some adjustments.
This includes adjusting sleep schedule and being more cautious while driving due to darker mornings and evenings. Drivers, please avoid distractions like your phone and radio. You always need to give yourself more room to react to other drivers. Drivers have to adjust to speed and new light levels. Certainly be mindful of pedestrians.
During the day and sometimes as dark begins, you see walkers, bikers and wheel chairs, too.
November is National Caregivers Month. We hope you will take time during the month and recognize and honor the 63+ million family caregivers across the U.S., professional and unpaid, who devote their time, energy and love to supporting a family member or friend with health issues.
This is a time to raise awareness around caregiving issues, educate communities and work to increase support. Many of you are caregivers, but don’t consider yourself one simply because it’s a natural gesture, an automatic move and loving thoughts of you.
Of course, I consider myself a caregiver with attention to my husband. It’s a commitment with resilience and love as it is with most caregivers. My thoughts are with you, “caregivers,” and those who have faced the challenge before.
It was so good and quite a surprise to see Lorraine Davis from Georgia along with her sisters traveling with her. The Davis family were our next door neighbors when we moved into this community. Lorraine was about 10 years old then, going to school. She spent much time at our home, as we loved having her around.
What a delightful greeting with Lorraine, Vonnie and Anita and to know their families are doing well. They look good! Oh! They visited their brother Ray and wife Mary, too.
We are proud of our children who stay in school and exhibit their best behavior and learn to the best of their ability.
Have you heard that The Board of Education officially approved in August 2025 that Mississippi Valley State University is to offer a certification for a master’s degree in teaching (Master of Arts in Teaching)? This is good news for the Valley!
Enjoy life today.
