The monthly distribution of food at Calvary Food Pantry near Parchman and Faith Food Pantry near Charleston will be delayed by one week and will take place on Saturday, July 25, at the regularly scheduled times.
Both pantries normally distribute food on the next-to-last Saturday of each month, but this month the distribution must be delayed by one week, to the last Saturday, because delivery of food to the pantries themselves will not occur until July 23 — five days after the usual distribution date.
Pantry officials apologize for the inconvenience.
Calvary Food Pantry is located at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, and will distribute food from 8-9 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own food pantry).
Faith Food Pantry, located at 30028 Highway 32, Charleston, will distribute food from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
