CARE held an opening night for its photography exhibit on June 28 in CARE’s Charleston Arts Center.
Photos were taken by members of the community who attended a workshop earlier in the month to teach them photography techniques with their camera or the camera on their phone. Winners received ribbons and cash prizes to reward their efforts and submissions.
The photography workshop and exhibit were funded through a grant from the Mississippi Presenters Network (MSPN).
The CARE project, entitled “Charleston: A Picture in Time,” was chosen to be a part of MSPN’s Present Mississippi Artist Exchange initiative due to its unique collaboration efforts and opportunity that the event brings to the Mississippi Delta region.
The Mississippi Presenters Network has been serving the state of Mississippi for 10 wonderful years with a mission to educate the arts community through professional development opportunities.
The network’s newest initiative, Present Mississippi, will focus on connecting artists and arts presenters statewide through artist exchanges. This will foster new relationships and in turn create a more collaborative and enriched arts network in the state of Mississippi.
