Carolyn Martindale Shook, 83, a retired business manager for Tallahatchie School District, died July 29, 2026, at home. Visitation is Monday, August 3, 2026, 1:00pm - 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Charleston, MS. Funeral services are 2:00pm Monday, August 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Charleston, MS with burial in the Rosemound Cemetery in Tutwiller, MS. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Carolyn enjoyed traveling and cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She found joy in tending to her flower gardens and working in her yard. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed singing in the First Baptist Church Choir of Charleston, MS. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she treasured the fellowship of her Sunday School class and church family.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Roy Shook of Cascilla, MS; son Hal (Tammy) Moore of Oxford, MS; daughter Fara Shook (Ross Hankins) of Oxford, MS; sister Alice (Dwight) Bolen of Batesville, MS; grandchildren Halle Moore, Sara Grace Moore & Anne Carolyn Hankins.
Preceded in death by her parents Norris & Agnes Lane Martindale; sisters Betty Langford & Joyce Brown.
