CASCILLA — Carolyn Martindale Shook, age 83, a retired business manager for Tallahatchie School District, passed away Wednesday, July 29, at her home.
Visitation was be held 1-2 p.m. Monday, August 3, at First Baptist Church, Charleston. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. with interment in the Rosemound Cemetery at Tutwiler. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Carolyn enjoyed traveling and cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She found joy in tending to her flower gardens and working in her yard. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed singing in the First Baptist Church Choir of Charleston. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she treasured the fellowship of her Sunday School class and church family.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Roy Shook of Cascilla; son Hal (Tammy) Moore of Oxford; daughter, Fara Shook (Ross Hankins) of Oxford; sister Alice (Dwight) Bolen of Batesville; grandchilren, Halle Moore, Sara Grace Moore and Anne Carolyn Hankins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Agnes Lane Martindale; and sisters, Betty Langford and Joyce Brown.
