SENATOBIA — Northwest Mississippi Community College officials announced 967 graduates have been awarded degrees and certificates for the spring 2023 semester.
Degrees were officially conferred by Dr. Michael Heindl, Northwest president, on May 12, during the college’s 113th Commencement. Serving as Commencement speaker for Academic and Career-Technical Education graduation was Kell Smith, executive director of the Mississippi Community College Board. For the School of Health Sciences Commencement, the speaker was Dr. Melissa Temple, director of nursing education at the Mississippi Institution of Higher Learning.
The college announced that the following local graduates received degrees:
» Quintovia Blackburn, of Oakland, graduated cum laude with an Associate of Applied Science and Technical Certificate.
» Sara Booth, of Charleston, graduated magna cum laude with an Associate of Arts.
» Aaliyah Bridges of Charleston, graduated with a Career Certificate.
» Laplayer Brown, of Sumner, graduated with an Associate of Arts.
» Sandra Chow, of Webb, graduated summa cum laude with Associate of Applied Science, Technical Certificate and a Career Certificate.
» William Douglas, of Enid, graduated with a Career Certificate.
» Te’anna Drain, of Charleston, graduated with an Associate of Arts.
» Jaime Fairlee Jr., of Sumner, graduated with an Associate of Applied Science, Technical Certificate and Career Certificate.
» Jenny Fowler, of Charleston, graduated cum laude with an Associate of Arts.
» Shaquita Goliday, of Charleston, graduated with a Technical Certificate and a Career Certificate.
» Jeremiah Johnson, of Oakland, graduated with an Associate of Arts.
» Ji’Mya Johnson, of Tutwiler, graduated cum laude with an Associate of Arts.
» Ja’Narrya Johnson, of Oakland, graduated with a Career Certificate.
» Tramiah Leason, of Holcomb, graduated magna cum laude with an Associate of Arts.
