Editor, Sun-Sentinel:
In a lifetime of memories here in Charleston, your special day for me Saturday, April 25, is among those I hold closest to my heart.
CARE and the Ed & Becky Meek Foundation are pillars of our community, and I appreciate greatly what they do to support the community and The Arts here.
To be recognized by them as a "Tallahatchie Treasure" and given a Key to the City means more to me than these words can express.
Thank you to all the CARE members, the hosts and hostesses, musician Thomas Johnson and others behind the scenes who helped make this day one I’ll always remember.
A special thank you to Dana Clolinger, Glenna Callender, Ed Meek, Daniel Tenner, Lesley Adams and Benjamen Douglas for their exceptional work pulling this journey of my time in the Arts, and in Mississippi together.
It was truly a special gift I will cherish.
The Arts flourish where the community, its leaders, and its citizens value expressions of beauty, culture and collaboration.
It is through continued community growth, sharing and support that the Arts expand and enhance our quality of life and commitment to each other.
Charleston will always be home.
Thank you all again for the humbling affirmation of being celebrated as a Tallahatchie Treasure.
