On Wednesday, March 15, Meek Foundation Executive Director Meg Sinervo spoke during the Charleston Rotary Club’s weekly meeting.
Meg had the opportunity to speak about the work the Meek Foundation is doing in Charleston, east Tallahatchie County and Charleston High School. She informed members about the foundation’s scholarships, programming with the career coach at Charleston High School and upcoming plans for the year.
One main focus of her speech was reminding community members that the foundation’s scholarship applications (for high school seniors looking to attend postsecondary institutions in Mississippi) will be nearing its deadline soon. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 31.
Scholarship applications can be found on the foundation’s website at www.meekfoundation.com.
The Charleston Rotary Club, and Rotary Clubs across the globe, have a united mission to provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for relationships with others and the action taken in the world. Members are reminded of the Rotary Club mission through four ethical guiding principles: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The Meek Foundation would like to give a huge thank you to Charleston Rotary for inviting Meg to speak.
