She was definitely underwhelmed! With Santa that is.
Addie knew about Santa, but her mama and daddy didn’t make a really big deal of him, or elves, or having to be good to get gifts at Christmas.
Well, Santa Claus was coming to visit preschool, and Addie would meet him for the first time, by herself without mama or daddy there. I wondered if she would be scared or would like him.
Jayme reported that Addie was excited and dressed up in her special Christmas sweater with a kitty saying,” Have a meowy Christmas” on the big day. But then I didn’t hear much.
When I asked her about the visit, she said Addie didn’t say much about him or what happened.
“She wasn’t scared of him. He gave her a stuffed figure from Frozen which she loved and a book. When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she told him: a kitchen play set and food and pots and pans. But, then she was so disappointed. She thought he would give it to her right then!”
You won’t ever be underwhelmed with Jesus Christ and what He gives to those who believe in Him as the only Son of God, who came as a baby, lived and taught us 33 years, then died on the cross to pay the penalty for mankind’s sins, rose again on the third day, and is now our Savior and Lord forever!
John 6:37 says, “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” We can’t be separated from Him, once we come to Him in faith and accept Him as Lord and Savior.
Matthew 4:19 says, “Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus through the Holy Spirit will make us useful disciples in His power.
In Luke 6:47, Jesus says, “I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.” This was after the parable of the wise and foolish builders. Jesus will give us guidance and reveal His will for us.
Matthew 11:28 tells us, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” We aren’t alone, we will have rest in Him, and we will find peace.
John 14:16 says, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.” The Holy Spirit will be with us and help us.
John 14:3 lets us know, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” He is coming back! He is providing for us even now!
Put your belief and faith in Jesus Christ. He has made many more promises in the Bible and you can depend on them! He is real
