This past week has been a whirlwind of emotions for so many of us in the Charleston community. Graduation is right around the corner and students are getting ready for the upcoming summer.
On Thursday, May 11, I had the opportunity to attend senior award ceremonies at North Delta School and Charleston High School. Believe me when I tell you these students are impressive! Their accomplishments and hard work throughout their high school career have paid off tremendously. Many of the North Delta graduates are finishing up high school with dual enrollment credits, honors and multiple scholarship offers. The Meek Foundation was honored to provide scholarships to four North Delta graduates for their upcoming fall semester.
Charleston High School is no different. Eight seniors are graduating with honors and nearly half the senior class is finishing with Superintendent’s Honor Roll and A-B Honor Roll. One of our 2023 scholarship recipients was even named valedictorian!
Principal Rice offered a special shout out to the CHS graduates who plan to or already have joined different branches of the armed forces during the awards night event. These students continue to amaze me with their commitment to school, their studies and their futures. It is an honor to get to work in a community like Char-leston and provide additional aid for those interested in continuing their education beyond high school.
Be on the lookout for the 2023 Meek Foundation scholarship recipients!
