Speak a Word
The Word, Jesus, was before the beginning of the world. The creation of the world was a timed event, and the Word was without beginning. The Word always was and therefore always will be.
Theologians describe the Word as two-fold. It is described as word conceived (thought) and word uttered (spoken). Christians conceived through mercy and spoken into existence through that same mercy have a distinct honor and power to use the Word in a manner that brings recognition to the power that is available to all who believe and align themselves to God.
Those who are products of the Word ought to, at this time, be speaking comfort into the lives of those who are discouraged, broken, afraid, confused or without hope. It is not a word which originates out of self will or even educational matriculation. This Word originates from knowledge received from the Written Word, the Bible.
Christians are not charged to know every word written in the Bible, but Christians are called to study and be receptive to the utterance of the Holy Spirit who will teach and reveal the wisdom found in the Bible. So, we may not be knowledgeable on how to comfort, but there is a word that can be found in the Bible that can be shared that will supply comfort and hope to everyone who needs hope.
Speaking a word of hope is a matter of Christians believing and having faith and to understand that the Lord cares about not only those who have confessed a hope in Christ, but he cares about all humanity. God extends grace to all humanity as found in Matthew 5:44-45, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
This is not about God condoning evil! It is about God’s love and His mercy giving individuals an opportunity to turn from evil (repent).
The spoken Word is powerful all by itself. Yet, there is a principle that must be used by the speaker to have that Word manifested in the lives of those who need a breakthrough. The Word must be combined with faith by the speaker.
In Matthew 17:20, it is taught that faith is powerful even if it is small faith. A little faith will move a mountain (sickness, depression, pain, anything that adversely affects living a full life). The Bible says through the Lord, it is indeed possible to speak a Word to change circumstances and offer hope to those in need.
