Fall seems to have arrived and with it we at ECF seem to be falling back into our regular schedule. We still “go on the road,” so to speak, reaching out with music, dance and song. Our hallway antics continue to bring the ECF residents to their doors and many follow us up and down the hall as we rock the afternoon away. Johnny Cash, the Temptations, Hank Williams Sr. and a host of other musical entertainers get our foot moving, hands clapping, bringing laughter and dancing. Monday afternoons continue to make “rock stars” of staff and residents.
Penny Auction continues to be a great calling card, just like bingo, popcorn and hand-dipped ice cream. Penny Auction lasts one hour and the table is filled with great male and female gifts. Every resident who attends is given 15 chips, and if you want a particular item, you better do like they do at a poker table and “go all in.” A couple of these photos get you in touch with the auctioneering, betting and winning.
Domino games have finally gotten started, and we have some new players who know the game and play to win. Our games are competitive and require skill. We have photos for you to see the concentration that one experiences at the “bone yard” table.
It feels like normal here, and only the Lord understands how important that normal feeling is.
We have lost some very dear people this last week: people we loved, people we shared laughter with and people we won’t ever forget. It is truly a privilege and honor that you shared your loved ones with us.
Thanksgiving is upon us and we know that many of you will be visiting at the nursing home or taking your loved one home with you for a family gathering. There is much to be thankful for this year. Our doors are open once again. We have no COVID cases. We are filling up our rooms again and making new friends.
Our family at ECF are always glad to see and meet new people. Remember, we love company! Come see us!
