I want to wish my sweet little beautiful friend, Mackayla Murphree, a happy 10th birthday. Mackayla celebrated her big day Oct. 24th. I am friends with her grandmother, Judy Jabr, through a group on Facebook. Judy sends me pictures of Mackayla and keeps me posted on her school grades and different activities. Sweet grandmother with a precious granddaughter. Maybe someday I’ll get to meet them both!
Lil Miss Bailee is back in Tillatoba for a week’s visit with her great-granddaddy and great-grandmother, Barry and Geneva Kelly.
Bradley Holliday spent Friday night and Saturday with his friend, John Luke Rose.
Martha Box is still hobbling and groaning because she can’t dance and boogie — yet — but is still blessed. “Jesus the HEALER carries me through,” she says. She will probably give in to surgery in a few weeks and is already priming the kids how to lift, tote and fetch. She also has already plucked a few switches, just in case.
Happy birthday to Charlotte Venable on the 29th; to Gina McMillian Potts, Jennifer Bailey Ross and Jeff Bailey, twins of Eugene and Peggy Bailey, who celebrate on the 30th; and to Mark Hartley and Rebecca Hill Franklin, who share a birthday on the 31st. May you all have a great day of celebrating!
Tommy and Debbie McCool visited with her daddy, Ray Bell, Sunday morning and then they went to Senatobia and spent the day with their son, Christopher and Samantha McCool and family. They enjoyed sitting out on their back patio and visiting all day.
Lynn Hoop Marceleno just returned home from a visit with her children, Joseph Little, wife Tiffany and their daughter Carley Little, and Josh Davila. Lynn also helped her daughter celebrate her birthday while there visiting! It was a great birthday month for Lynn and her children. Other than a little trouble with delayed flights, she said it was a heartwarming trip. I’m glad you had such a good time, Lynn.
Congratulations to Officer Hunter Potts on his recent graduation from North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy! Hunter will be working in the Batesville area. Family who attended the ceremonies to help congratulate Hunter were his mother, Gina Potts; sister, Hannah Potts, and twin daughters, Emma and Ava; Daisy Isbell; Rina Chaney; Brent, Stephanie, Patrick, Peyton and Presley McMillan; and Shirley Potts and April.
While waiting on prescriptions to be filled, David and I visited daughter Donna Garripoli and Tommy and Ann Hudson in Grenada Saturday afternoon.
There was a big double birthday party for Audree Dukes and Braxton Parrish at Bull Bottom Farm Sunday afternoon. It’s a nice place to go for a party! Sam, Anna and Joanna Pullen; Waylon, Holly and Haven Rose Dukes; John and Kathy Dukes; Diane Dukes and daughter Terri Dukes; Jake and Roseann Rose and sons John Luke and Logan; Michael French and family from Carrollton; Brad and Bradley Holliday; Holly Box and children; and the Robbie Lenard family attended the party. Destiny’s mother and grandparents were also there. Audree and Braxton are the children of Jimmy and Destiny Dukes. They also have another child, Conner.
My recipe for this week: “Warm German Sandwich”
Lightly toast two pieces of rye bread. Coat one slice with Braunschweiger sausage and put a generous layer of red cabbage and a slice of apple on top of the sausage. Coat the other slice of bread with your favorite mustard. Warm the sandwich in a frying pan 1½ minutes on each side with just a little butter on each side.
