TUTWILER — CoreCivic’s Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility (TCCF) held a special celebration Nov. 11 to honor 20 veterans who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and are now TCCF staff members.
Warden Luis Rosa, a fellow veteran, shared his thoughts at the Veterans Day luncheon, along with featured speaker, pastor Carl Ray of Charleston.
“The dedication and sacrifices made by the men and women who served our county continue to resonate as members of our staff here at Tallahatchie,” Rosa said. “Their transition from military service to corrections brings a wealth of experience, discipline and a strong sense of service that benefits all of our team members, as well as those in our care.”
Pastor Ray, who is also a veteran, emphasized loyalty and accountability when he spoke at the celebration.
“As veterans, you’ve shown loyalty and accountability to your country and your team, said Ray. “When I served, I trusted God and did not fear. In your roles now, continue showing loyalty to God and your team, regardless of life’s challenges.”
The veterans had lunch together, shared stories and received plaques and tokens of appreciation.
