Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, located at 386 Mt. Olive Road, Tillatoba, began revival services Wednesday, Sept. 25, and those services will continue through Friday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 nightly.

Friendship church homecoming set
Friendship Church of God will conduct homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 29. Guest speaker will be Bro. Ronnie Clark. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11. Lunch will follow, and afternoon singing is planned. Everyone is welcome.
Corinth hosts LeeAnn Davis Allison
Corinth Baptist Church will host LeeAnn Davis Allison as a guest speaker on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. She will tell about her trip to Peru, passing out Operation Christmas Child boxes. Everyone is invited.
Rollins tells of annual fall revival
Rollins United Methodist Church, at 500 Second St., in Tutwiler, will have their annual fall revival titled “Revival for Survival” beginning Sunday, Sept. 29, and continuing through Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Sunday service begins at 6 p.m., and weeknight services start at 7.

Chick-fil-A comes to benefit CARE
The Chick-fil-A food truck will park in front of the CARE Arts Center in Charleston from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, to enable community members to purchase food. Only credit cards and debit cards are accepted. A portion of all sales goes to CARE to provide programs for the community.

Decorate your storefront for Gateway
The Gateway to the Delta Festival on Oct. 12 is the largest event of the year on the Charleston Court Square, and businesses are invited to celebrate in style by decorating their storefront for the fall season. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places, and winners will also have their photos featured in The Sun-Sentinel on Oct. 10. Judging will occur on Friday, Oct. 4, beginning at 3 p.m.

Polly Foxx’s breast cancer event set
Polly Foxx’s 15th annual breast cancer event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, in Charleston. A cancer walk (the cost to participate is $5) will begin at 8 a.m. on the Court Square, followed immediately by a prayer breakfast (costing $10) at Lily-Rose Restaurant. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
T-shirts are available for the event, as well.

Gateway to the Delta Festival on tap
The annual Gateway to the Delta Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 10 a.m., around the Court Square in Charleston.
The all-day event will feature a fun run/walk, live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, children’s games and activities, a car show, children’s pageants, food trucks and more. Admission is free.

Charleston First Presbyterian Church will host their 100th year anniversary celebration on Sunday, Oct. 13. CHS plans homecoming parade
The Charleston High School homecoming parade, “Red Carpet,” will be Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Charleston.
The parade will begin promptly at 5 p.m. on East Walnut Street. Participants are to arrive no later than 4 p.m. to line up for the parade, which will showcase 2024 CHS homecoming maids, band members, football players, cheerleaders, student organizations, former graduating classes and members of the community.
This year’s grand marshal will be the superintendent of the East Tallahatchie School District, Raymond Russell.
After East Walnut Street, the parade will head down South Market Street to the hospital and will loop around the hospital’s parking lot before turning left on West Cypress. It will turn right onto South Franklin near Family Dollar and then will turn right onto West Main. From there, the parade will travel around the court square and down Cossar Boulevard. All participants will turn right onto South Cossar Street, where the parade will end at the former National Guard armory.

Calvary Food Pantry to distribute
Calvary Food Chapel, at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, will distribute food from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own food pantry). Return empty boxes for refill when you pass through. Be on time.
