Charleston Mayor Sedrick Smith will present his fifth annual Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday, March 31.
The black-tie gala is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Charleston Middle School gymnasium and will feature a catered dinner, a formal program of speakers, live musical entertainment and dancing.
Complete details have not been announced, but Smith’s sister Carolyn Johnson, an organizer of the event, said there has been some confusion about the date so she wanted to make that much public now.
Proceeds from the ticketed event benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
