CHARLESTON — Donald Wesley “Grimise” Rodgers, age 53, of Charleston, passed away Friday, August 7, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Bro. Ricky Williamson, II officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
He was born June 10, 1973 in Charleston to Claude Wesley and Sally Brunson Rodgers.
Grimise earned a degree in Engineering from Holmes Community College and most recently worked as a Project Manager for Acy Mechanical in Winona.
An avid outdoorsman, Donald enjoyed the simple things in life, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, he was deeply devoted to his family and always made himself available to help when needed. He attended Faith Fellowship Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Misty Richardson (Jason) of Grenada, Kristy Whitfield (Billy) of Holcomb and Lisa Rodgers of Grenada; one brother, Claude Dorris (Tricia) of Grenada; nieces and nephews, Kailey Anthony (Tristan), Cade Whitfield (Hallie), Ashton Griffin (Culley), Anna Dorris, Cole Richardson and Aiden Richardson; great nephew and niece, Levi and Heidi Anthony; and a special couple who he considered his second set of parents, William Earl and Edwardanne McCammon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Tristan Anthony, Culley Griffin, Will McCammon, Aiden Richardson, Cole Richardson and Cade Whitfield. Honorary pallbearers will be his uncles and cousins.
