The East Tallahatchie School District (ETSD) announced Tuesday “an outstanding academic achievement:” ETSD has earned the No. 1 Algebra I proficiency score in the state of Mississippi.
“This remarkable accomplishment reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by our students and staff,” the district noted in a statement. “The district extends special recognition to Ms. LaManda Moore and her Algebra I students, whose determination and commitment have resulted in this exceptional achievement.”

The statement said Moore’s “dedication to providing high-quality instruction, setting high expectations, and supporting students throughout the learning process has helped students reach this significant milestone,” adding, “Equally deserving of recognition are the Algebra I students who remained focused, worked dil-igently, and demonstrated that hard work and perseverance can lead to extraordinary results.
“We are extremely proud of Ms. Moore and our Algebra I students. Being ranked No. 1 in Algebra I proficiency in the state of Mississippi is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to what our students can achieve when provided with strong instruction, support, and encouragement,” the district’s statement continued.
