Scissors’ home on the outskirts of Charleston was again the topic of discussion when Andrew McCrea of “American Countryside” visited Charleston recently.
McCrea, who is a five-time Oscar-winning radio broadcaster, was interested in the history of Scissors, Colonel Tom James and Scissors’ home. He was fascinated by the fame and attention that the prized hog received in the early 1900s.
McCrea interviewed Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE) Executive Director Dana Clolinger while filming a segment about that Tallahatchie history for “American Countryside.”
“American Countryside,” from Farm Journal, airs on over 100 radio and TV stations across the United States.
Although the exact date of the airing of the footage is not known, McCrea assured Clolinger that he will provide CARE the links once he has confirmation.
McCrea is chairman of the Heartland Foundation, a leadership foundation empowering youth and adults in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa, and also serves as vice chairman of the Missouri Beef Industry Council.
