M.G. Sumner of Webb will be honored by family and friends on the occasion of his 90th birthday. He was born July 28, 1933, to the late Corine and English Sumner of Webb. He and his wife, Alma Sumner, have been married for 67 years. Sumner is the father of nine children, one of whom is deceased. He will be honored Friday, July 28, with a drive-by parade at his residence, Apt. 33 at the Jerome G. Little Manor, 1096 Jerome G. Little Dr. A birthday celebration will be held Saturday, July 29. CARE camp offers creative fun for local children

The Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE) is conducting children’s summer camps during the month of July.
Classes, held in the Charleston Arts Center (CARE building) in Charleston, feature instruction in art, karate and dance, and are open to area children.

Zane Hodge, a resident of the Mississippi Delta, was 51 years old when he stumbled across an online ad for a 12-mile open-water swim that was being hosted in Chattanooga, Tennessee. On a whim, he decided to sign up, and that one decision ignited a love for swimming that can still be seen today.
