Meg Sinervo recently joined the local Ed and Becky Meek Foundation as the director of resource development.
“She is excited to become actively engaged in the Charleston/East Tallahatchie County community,” said Glenna Callender, executive director of the foundation.
Sinervo is a Mississippi native, born and raised in Oxford. She received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 2014 and a certificate of culinary arts from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas, in 2016.
After culinary school, Sinervo moved back to Oxford to manage a catering company and serve as the general manager for a restaurant.
After working in hospitality for several years and collaborating with local nonprofit organizations, she discovered her passion for giving back. She left the hospitality industry to work with a scholarship program at the University of Mississippi and, later, a nonprofit organization that honored service-minded individuals at 70 colleges and universities across the American South.
Sinervo lives in Oxford with her boyfriend, Zak, and four dogs, Anderson, Woodford, Penelope and Turtle.
She has two nephews, Harrison and Hayes, and is a member of the Oxford University United Methodist Church.
