Jordan Browley is one of two students from Tallahatchie County to receive a scholarship from Community Friends of ICS to attend the college or university of his choice.
The son of Candice Browley, he attended Charleston High School, where he was active in football and baseball.
Browley is a member of Men United, the National Honor Society and The Mississippi Delta Kappa League, and attends the Persimmon Hill M.B. Church.
Browley plans to attend Grambling State University, where he will major in business with a minor in psychology.
Each year, Community Friends of ICS awards $1,000 scholarships to two area students in each of the 14 counties served by the Institute of Community Services Inc.
Roger Givens, board chair of Community Friends of ICS and Mrs. Eloise McClinton, executive director of the Institute of Community Services Inc., state that funds raised from the annual Community Friends of ICS Gospel Extravaganza support this scholarship effort.
Counties served by the Institute of Community Services Inc. are Benton, Clay, DeSoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Lowndes, Marshall, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate and Tunica.
