ATLANTA – FEMA has approved more than $22 million in funding to support 13 recovery projects in Mississippi communities affected by the January 2026 severe winter storm.
Notable recovery projects FEMA funded include:
» $12.8 million to Lafayette County for debris removal efforts.
» $5.2 million to Panola County for debris removal efforts.
» $727,479 to City of Oxford for debris removal efforts.
» $702,852 to City of Water Valley for debris removal efforts.
» $597,883 to City of Corinth for debris removal efforts.
FEMA is reimbursing these recovery costs at no less than a 75% federal cost share through its Public Assistance program, which provides funds for state and local governments’ response and recovery work.
