HOLCOMB — Frank Bardwell “Bubba” Lance, Jr., age 69, of Holcomb, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, in Grenada.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Holcomb Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery in the Rosebloom community of Tallahatchie County. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Monday at Holcomb Baptist Church.
He was born June 25, 1955 in Tallahatchie County to Frank Bardwell, Sr. and Bessie Jane Ingram Lance. Bubba spent the early part of his career farming and later joined the team at Sealed Air in Grenada. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing at every opportunity. He was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Adrienne Lance Hoss of Holcomb; his son, Trey Lance of Holcomb; step-son, Michael Edwards of Holcomb; sisters, Beth Costilow of Grenada, Paula Woods of Gore Springs and Margaret Lance of Higdon, Ala.; four grandchildren, Noah Hoss, Braelyn Aurell, Bethany Wallace and Mia Ferguson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bubba is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Lance.
Tim Bailey, Robert Buchanan, Joe Fennell, Kelly Fennell, Tracy Simpson and Clark Wilson will honor Bubba by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Smith Cemetery. Michael Edwards, Daniel Hoss, Noah Hoss and Gary Lee Lance will serve as honorary pallbearers.
