The National Weather Service is forecasting an "impactful" winter storm will move into the area Friday afternoon and bring freezing rain, sleet, snow and dangerously low subfreezing temperatures, with potential ice impacts on infrastructure.
An arctic cold front is expected to bring frozen precipitation late Friday and create icy conditions, with the temperature falling from a high near 42 to a low around 18 Friday night. The chance of precipitation is 50% Friday and 80% Friday night, when up to a half-inch of ice could coat the area.
On Saturday, freezing rain and sleet, possibly mixed with snow showers, is expected. Sleet could be heavy at times. The high will be 24 and the chance of precipitation is 90%.

Sunday, a 30% chance of snow showers and freezing rain is forecast, with a high near 26.

Whatever falls and sticks to the ground and other surfaces over the weekend will hang around into early next week, with Monday's high predicted at 28 under mostly sunny skies.
