CASCILLA — James Roy Grammer, age 62, of Cascilla, passed away Sunday, May 25,at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.
Born on October 29, 1962, in Grenada, James was the son of William Roy “Spud” Grammer and the late Janie Ruth “Polly” Kendall Grammer. He spent much of his career as a brazer at Modine in Grenada.
James was a man who cherished the simple things in life. Known for his kind and giving spirit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand —especially to his friends and neighbors in the Cascilla community. If given the choice, he’d rather be riding a backroad in Tallahatchie County than anywhere else in the world.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Bailey (Trey) of Grenada; his son, Cody Grammer (Jeannie) of Cascilla; his father, William R. “Spud” Grammer of Cascilla; three grandchildren, Eli Bailey, Barrett Grammer, and Bryson “Peanut” Grammer; and a nephew, Dustin Grammer.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Ruth “Polly” Kendall Grammer, and his brothers, Dennis Ray Grammer and Carl Ray Houston.
In keeping with his wishes, memorial service plans are private.
