ROSEBLOOM — Jeanette Dorman Mitchell, age 86, of Rosebloom passed away Saturday, March 22, at her home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jerry Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on June 2, 1938 to Robert and Agnes Dorman of Vaiden.
She dedicated her life to her family and church where she was a pianist for over 58 years. She was known for cooking food for anyone in need and any special occasions. She was a dedicated member of Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Mitchell had beautiful penmanship that she used often to send cards and letters to those she loved.
In 1956, she married the love of her life, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Sr. They were married for 52 years until his passing. She spent most of her adult life working at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada. She worked there for 40 years until her retirement. Jeanette was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children, but nothing brought her more joy than becoming a grandmother and later a great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Sr. and son, Ricky Joe Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Price (Rickey) of Grenada; son, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Jr. of Cullman, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Becky Mitchell of Rosebloom; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends, Loyce and Stick Stokes.
Will Ballard, Kempe Hodges, Jr., Michael Jones, Bobby Lively, Samy McCracken, Brandon Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell will honor Mrs. Mitchell by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Smith Cemetery. Marion Bishop, Kempe Hodges, Sr., Timmy Mitchell, Steve Ross and Stick Stokes will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Smith Cemetery Fund.
