CHARLESTON — Jennifer Hargett Barefoot, age 36, passed away Monday, Aug. 8 in Pope. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 12, at Charleston Church of God from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at Charleston Church of God with interment following in Charleston City Cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Jennifer, a life-long member of Charleston Church of God, was a 2006 graduate of Ole Miss. She was employed as an education consultant for Educational Consulting, Charleston, and CORE Learning of Madison. She has worked in school districts throughout Mississippi and was a National Board Certified teacher with a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction.
She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Barefoot of Charleston; her children, Betsy Wolfe and Bentley Wolfe of Charleston, and Marshall Bailey Allbritton of Grenada; her parents, Edward and Charlotte Hargett of Charleston; her brother, Shane Hargett of Charleston; her newphew, Chad Hargett of Charleston; and her aunt, Rosemary Wolfe of Charleston, as well as numerous other aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Lucy Lavender; her paternal grandparents, Flynn and Frankie Hargett; and her uncle, Billy Wolfe.
