HOLCOMB — Jimmy Darrell Tartt, age 56, of Holcomb, passed away Monday, September 14, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Bro. Dustin Mauldin officiating.. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in the Oxberry community.
He was born February 3, 1970 in Charleston. Darrell spent most of his working life as a carpenter and electrician, a vocation that he mastered and was very well-respected in. An avid outdoorsman, Darrell enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed racing. Darrell was a member of the Turkey Foot Fork Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Deann Tartt; mother, Louise Ford (John) of Holcomb; daughters, Amber Tartt and Zoe Seymore, both of Holcomb; sons, Cody Tartt (Grace), Tristan Seymore and Cash Seymore; sister, Teresa Dickey (Ronald) of Tupelo; and two granddaughters, Callie Mae Tartt and Kaislee Paige Tartt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Tartt and a brother, Tracy Tartt.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jacob Crouch, Austin Lance, Kaleb Morris, TJ Schiele, Randall Tartt and Morgan Whitten. His racing buddies Troy Campbell, Don Crouch, Tony Crouch, Hank Davis, Randy Hoop, Johnny Wayne Lindley and Eric Walters served as honorary pallbearers.
