CHARLESTON — Johnny Greene Sayle, age 69, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, at the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston.
He was the husband of Jennifer Hutchison Sayle. They shared thirteen years of marriage together.
Born in Charleston, Johnny was the son of Isaac E. Sayle and Sue Whitten Sayle. He graduated high school from Strider Academy, then went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi. Following a long career with Sayle Oil Company, he retired in 2019.
He was a member of Oxford University Methodist Church in Oxford. He enjoyed Ole Miss sporting events, playing harmonica and guitar, fishing, traveling with his wife, and so much more. He will be remembered for his vibrant personality, free spirit, stellar dance moves, and perfect comedic timing.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Jennifer H. Sayle; his brother, Ike Sayle (Elaine) and brother-in-law, Don Allison (Linda); his children, Greene Sayle (Lauren), Jay Sayle (Paige), Amelia Sayle and Crystal Brasher (Seburn), and step-children, Alan Price and Mary Kathryn Honeycutt (Hayden); and fourteen grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Isaac E. and Sue Sayle; his sister, Linda Allison; his son, Willy Sayle; grandson, John Wesson Sayle, and granddaughter, Millie Denise Price.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
