BRAZIL— June Marie Jennings Melton, age 93, passed away Thursday, June 19, at her home.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at a later date. Greenwood Delta Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Born July 9, 1931, she was the daughter of Thomas Arthur and Opal Tabb Jennings of the Walnut Community near Vance.
Growing up, June was a member of the Walnut Baptist Church and later a member of the Brazil Baptist Church.
She graduated from Walnut High School as Salutatorian of her senior class of 1949.
On May 20, 1949, she married Frank Lawson Melton of Brazil, where they made their home on the family farm and raised four children.
June is survived by her children, Vicki (Roy) Yaeger, Nanette (Roger) Worsham, Melanie (Bert) Wolfe and Frank (Elizabeth) Melton, seven grandchildren; Van (Jennifer) Wolfe, Kris Lawson (Mae) Wolfe, Art (Melissa) Wolfe, Will Worsham, Melton (Linda) Worsham, Drew (Micci) Worsham and Victoria Melton, fourteen great- grandchildren and one sister, Carol (Charles) Hill.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, Frank L., she was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Jennings, seven siblings and a daughter.
She took great pride in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She also leaves behind her devoted friend, Tara Gardner, along with other caregivers, Josie Huddleston, Claudette Wilche and Sharon Willis.
