Editor, Sun-Sentinel:
I am so tired of politically correct. There is no replacement for right and wrong.
I have never ridden the subway in New York. If I did, and a mentally ill patient was threatening my life and others, I would be glad to see a man step forward to help.
The man threatening people had been arrested 40 times. He was homeless and mentally ill, but not on medication.
A hero, a Marine, who had been trained to serve and protect, stepped forward. If the other people on the train had stepped forward, he could have let go. The man later died.
Now, the man who felt free to threaten all the people on the subway, is a hero. The Marine, who was doing something about it, is arrested.
Where were all the protesters when the man was homeless?
Where were they and the police when he was arrested 40 times and released?
Where were the family and medical people when he was allowed to walk around and threaten people?
This is proof that this is a sad world.
