ELVIS is in the building! Well, technically, he will be on the Gateway to the Delta Festival Stage on Oct. 14.
We are excited to welcome Elvis impersonator Brian Lee Howell and his band to Gateway this year to sing all of the familiar songs of the King of Rock & Roll that we so love to hear.
Being an Elvis impersonator has been Brian Lee Howell’s career for the past 19 years. He and his wife/manager started this Elvis thing together back in 2004, and they are blessed to call this their full-time career!
Born of a Southern Baptist preacher, Brian is also the music director at his local Baptist church, where his wife is also the pianist. They have two sweet daughters, Gracelyn, who is 9, and Glory, who is 7, and they definitely have their roots planted deep into music, Elvis, God and family!
Brian has performed thousands of shows and is honored to have an awesome group of guys who are in his exclusive band. Made up of Larry Bedwell on lead guitar, Joe Phelan on bass guitar, Lyons Pope on guitar/ synths/background vocals, Rusty Dyson on keyboard/ background vocals, and Joel Leterneau on drums, these experienced musicians really back up this Elvis with that authentic sound and pro quality topped off with matching attire for that extra stage appeal.
Brian is honored to have each of these amazing talents on stage with him and can truly call them all his friends!
Larry started playing guitar in 1970 and is remembered most for playing in the ’70s Rock band called “Raisin Kane.” He’s only been playing for Brian for a little over two years, but it’s like they’ve been together forever.
Joe started playing guitar in 1964 and learned to play Elvis’ and Jerry Lee Lewis’ music because it was so popular. He plays bass for Brian now and has been with him the longest, which is about 10 years now.
Lyons is a native Memphian and has been involved with the Mid-South music scene since 1979. Even though he prefers to be behind his favorite guitar, he is just as much at home behind a microphone to add harmony vocals to achieve that best sound.
Rusty was raised by a Pentecostal preacher and first learned to sing and play instruments at a very early age while traveling around the country. He has perfect pitch and can name that key for any song and play that piano like nobody’s business.
Joel was born in Detroit and drummed in classic rock bands. He moved to Tennessee in 2012 and has been with Brian for almost two years now making it happen with Elvis!
