Tallahatchie County native Colson Sanders was one of 75 students at The University of Mississippi who participated in a recent white coat ceremony, signifying the beginning of pharmacy school.
All have completed their undergraduate studies.
Sanders, the son of Steve and April Sanders of near Oakland, was the recipient of the Bernice Raggett/John Barksdale Denley Scholarship, which was established for deserving students from Tallahatchie, Grenada, Bolivar, Yalobusha and Sunflower counties, according to scholarship fund spokesperson Daphine Denley Craig.
