CHARLESTON — Charlie Williamson, 77, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, while doing what he loved.
The family will receive guests today, Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m. for visitation at First Baptist Church in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with interment following at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery at Paynes. Newsom Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Charlie was a man of strong faith and a loving husband of 58 years to his wife, Lynda.
He was deemed “C” by his grandkids and they were the light of his life and absolute pride and joy.
Charlie was a longtime farmer and trucker, an avid jokester, friend to all and could tell a story better than most.
Left on earth to cherish his memory are wife, Lynda Williamson of Charleston; two sons, Ray Williamson and Harvey Williamson (Brenda), both of Charleston; four grandchildren, Bradley Williamson of Charleston (Christie), Christopher Williamson of Charleston, (Mary Hays), Sully Williamson of Batesville and Caroline Williamson of Batesville (Trace); his brother, Alvin Williamson of Grenada; along with a host of other family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Benton and Jennie Williamson; and brother, Paul Williamson.
Pallbearers are John Paul Goodwin, Matt McBride, Bubba Goad, David Nelson, Chris Griffin and Kevin Booth.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Milam, JJ Milam, Jimbo Evans and Shawn Cole.
