GRENADA — Mrs. Christy Lee Lane Walters, 49, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment followed in the Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom.
Christy was born April 7, 1973 in Charleston to George and Barbara Tallent Lane. She was a graduate of the Holmes Community College Nursing Program. A natural-born caregiver, Christy excelled in her career as a nurse and spent over 18 years in various settings caring for the sick. Christy enjoyed spending time with her family, attending dirt drag races and hunting with her husband. She was a member of the Grenada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Walters; two sons, Zach Moore of Oxford and Travis Walters of Ft. Worth, Texas; mother, Barbara Lane Dunlap of Bruce; two sisters, Micki Jones of Bruce and Tracy Moore of Clarksdale; brother, Tony Pullen of Houlka; grandson, Benton Lane Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews who will also cherish her memory for many years to come.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Lane.
Jason Hardin, Steve Hardin, Alex Moore, Zach Moore, Tony Pullen and Mark Walters will honor Christy by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Smith Cemetery. Luke Hardin and Lewis Ray Walters will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
