CHARLESTON — Donnie Simmons, age 58, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 1 p.m. until the service time beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston with interment to follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Donnie was a true outdoorsman that loved fishing and hunting, a family man, handy man and just an all about genuine guy that had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone day or night.
He is survived by four sons, Josh Simmons (Kaitlyn), Jonathan Simmons, Chance Simmons and Austin Simmons (Caitlin); two grandchildren, Levi and Lily Simmons; three sisters, Nellie Early (the late Billy), Dorothy Armstrong (Jim) and Patsy Simmons; and one brother, Floyde Simmons (Connie).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardie and Lillie Simmons; four sisters, Inez Shaw, Barbara Martin, Dinah Fitzpatrick and Betty Tribble; and three brothers, Ardis, Marvin and Cecil Simmons.
