JACKSON, Ga. — Dosha Mae Hales Mullen, age 95, of Jackson, Georgia, formally of Tallahatchie County, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Stonefield Church of God near Cascilla. Interment will follow at Stonefield Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald LeRoy officiating. Newsom Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Dosha was born November 21, 1927 to Pat and Mattie Hales in Rankin County Mississippi.
She retired from Pennecco Hosiery in Grenada. She loved to read, watch women’s basketball and care for anyone needing care, and loved going to family reunions.
She was active in Stonefield Church of God for four decades, teaching Sunday school, working in Vacation Bible School, and Ladies Willing Workers-Women’s Ministry. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons Bruce (Rita) Mullen of St. Mary’s, Ga., Keith (Brenda) Mullen of Southaven and Kennon (Cynthia) Mullen of McDonough, Ga.; five grandchildren, Jamie (Jenny) Mullen, Ryan (Laura) Mullen, Lauren Mullen (Matther Miller, Patrick (Melissa) Mullen and Jessica (Sterling) Foster; and five great-grandchildren, Jay Mullen, Tyler Dixon, Grace Dixon, Orry Bolling, Mattie Foster.
Dosha was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, J.E. (Dick) Mullen of Holcomb; parents, Pat and Mattie Hales of Brandon; and twelve brothers and sisters.
