DREW — George “Rabbit” David Breland, age 87, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 27, 10-11 a.m., at Friendship Baptist Church in Tutwiler. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Tutwiler with interment following in the Drew Cemetery, at Drew. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home, Clarksdale, has charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Mary Annie Sumner Breland; a brother, Bud Breland, and sister, Helen Breland Wyatt.
He is survived by his son, David Breland (Elizabeth) of Oakland; daughter, Angela Breland of Pope; sisters, Ruth Powell of Germantown, Tennessee, Gladys Davis of Eads, Tennessee, and Louise Hill (Billy) of Charleston; two grandchildren, John Michael (DJ) Breland and Andrew (Chelsey) Breland.
