CHARLESTON — William Harry Ford, age 68, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24.
The family will receive friends today Friday, Aug. 25, from 6 - 8 p.m. in the chapel of Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Newsom Funeral Home with interment following at Magnolia Garden Cemetery at Paynes.
Harry was a mechanic, loved racing and building trucks, was a carpenter — just a jack of all trades. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Grace Ford of Oakland; daughter, Tabitha Ford of Bartlett, Tenn.; sons, William Shayne Ford (Holli) of Oakland and Joshua Thomas Ford (Katlin) of Oakland; six grandchildren, Jenah Victoria Ford, Ava Claire Ford, Meah Faith Ford, Isabella Renee Ford, Layla Claire Ford and Thomas Kade Ford; four sisters, Henrece Murphy, Belva Faye Ford, Wanda Wortham and Connie Smith, all of Charleston; and one brother, Henry Larry Ford (Mary Alice) of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Ford and Johnnie Huddleston Ford; two sisters, Reva Howard and Linda Jones; and one brother, Jimmy Dale Ford.
