GRENADA — Janet Belvin Kendall, age 62, of Grenada, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada.
Memorial service plans are private. Janet will be laid to rest in the Kendall family plot at Stonefield Cemetery at Cascilla.
She was born December 12, 1961 in Charleston to Sammie D. and Nettie B. Melton Kendall.
Janet adored her children and grandchildren and felt her greatest gift was her daughter since she was told she would never be able to have children. Janet loved spending time at the beach and enjoyed traveling anytime she was able. She attended Holmes Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Janet worked for many years in various sales positions. Janet was an artist at heart and loved everyone she came in contact with. She was a very loving and compassionate person. Janet lived her life for her family and will be missed for many years to come. We are grateful for the time we had with her, but rejoice in knowing her suffering is no more.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Baker (Jody) of Knoxville, Tenn.; her son, David Fortenberry, Jr. (Trina) of Florence; two sisters, Dale Vaughn (David) of Duck Hill and Phylis Kendall of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three brothers, James Kendall of Greenwood, Sam Kendall, Jr. (Barbara) of Cascilla and John Byars (Ruth) of Grenada; three grandchildren, Hannah Baker, Madison Baker (Chase Rob) and Walker Baker; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Sophia.
